On the 8th September 2017 Rihanna had her first launch of her makeup line called Fenty Beauty. I was so excited to get my hands on them, however, because I live in Limerick and there is no Sephora or Harvey Nicols I had to make my purchase online. I received my purchase a few days after the launch and I was not disappointed. The packaging is blush colored and a metallic rose which gives a very luxurious feeling.
On the 13th of October Fenty beauty launched a galaxy range of products, these products were more colorfully packaged and a lot of the products were more on the bold and shimmery side which didn’t really appeal to me. I did not purchase anything from this line but I’ve put a picture from the website below.

On 23rd of November the release of Stunna Red Lip paint was released and that was followed by a launch of 14 mattemoiselle matte lipsticks on the 26th December . I did purchase the lip paint and one of the matte lipsticks.
Here are my thoughts on all the products I purchased;
Pro Filter Foundation
First of all, shout out to Rihanna for launching 40 shades. That is incredible, especially for a new brand. It is really clear from the advertising that this foundation was inclusive of all different skin shades which I absolutely loved. As a woman of color I have found it difficult to find a foundation that matches my skin tone. I made my purchase online and I got two shades, 310 and 330, because I wasn’t sure which would work best. I ended up keeping 310 and giving the 330 to my little sister. In terms of the the finish, I would describe it as a velvet matte and medium/full coverage, it does apply very well and does not cake up. I did not purchase the primer though so it may apply even better with the brands own primer.
Match Stix Trio
I purchased the match stick trio which includes a concealer, contour and highlight stick. The sticks are magnetic which I found super cool. The trio I got is the medium 200 that includes the shades bamboo, mocha and trippin’. You can buy these individually which I wish I did because I only really use the contour shade (mocha) and the highlight shade (trippin’). The concealer is the right shade but doesn’t give a lot of coverage, which I need for the dark circles under my eyes. The highlight shade is great for a subtle highlight but for those days you need something more intense you’ll need to top up with another highlighter.
There are a total of six highlighters, four of which are duos. When these were released everyone and their mom was trying to get their hands on the gold trophy wife shade. I watched several reviews on it and decided that it was a little bit too intense for me. I did still purchase it for my little sister as I knew she would appreciate it more. For myself, I purchased the duo that included shades Mean Money and Hustla Baby. I use the latter more.
In the first launch there was only one lip product, which was a bit of a surprise to me because Rihanna is known for her lips. The gloss is described as a universal lip luminizer and I can see how it would suit everyone. It is a rosey nude color and has a really nice smell and applicator. This is the perfect everyday lipgloss.
Stunna Lip Paint
This is probably my favorite red lipstick ever. It is such a beautiful shade that’s flattering on all skin tones. It kind of reminds me of Mac’s Rubywoo but without the dryness. It is a matte formula but it isn’t drying on the lips and because of the unique applicator a liner isn’t necessary. I absolutely love it!
Mattemoiselle Matte Lipstick
I haven’t yet created a make up look with this lipstick but I did try it on. It feels very comfortable which isn’t always the case with matte lipsticks. I purchased the shade Up 2 No Good – a nude peach. This will need a lip liner. Having only tested one, I already know I love the formula of these lipsticks and I will be purchasing a few more colors from the fourteen color range.
All in all I think this is a pretty fantastic makeup range and I’d definitely recommend it. Let me know what you think in the comments, I’d love to hear from you.
