This is a follow up to my Versailles post about my second trip to Paris last year. Since I put a lot of information in those two posts, I decided to keep this one short and sweet. If you want a few more tips on other places to visit in Paris check out my other two articles below;
Les Caves du Louvre
Les Caves du Louvre is a former royal wine cellar that belonged to King Louis XV and is now open to the public for an interactive wine tasting experience by stimulating the five senses. There is a store right next door where you can purchase any wines that might catch your eye or palate. I bought a beautiful bottle myself and regret only buying one, it was one of the most delicious wines I’ve ever tasted in my life. You can also make your own wine and make reservations to go on wine tours here. You can visit the website and get tickets here
I did so much on my last three day trip to Paris that I missed out on a lot of things I really wanted to see. One of those was Notre Dame Cathedral so on this trip I decided I had to go and see it.
I Love Macarons
I have a sweet tooth and I love macarons but you know whats better than macarons? Macarons with ice cream (my mouth is watering just thinking about it). After dinner on the first night I went to Amorino, the place where all diet plans go to die.
More Food …
If someone asked me what my favourite cuisine is I would definitely say its french cuisine. Even here in Limerick, Ireland my favourite restaurant is The French Table so naturally I overindulged in Paris.
I absolutely fell in love with a restaurant named Loulou. The truffle pizza there is something I had heard about for a long time and when I finally got to order my own it turned out to be a slice of heaven (pun intended). It is at Musée des Arts Décoratifs and just a stones throw from the Lourve. The restaurant is frequented by celebs like Bella Hadid , Lily Colins and Beyonce. It is a bit on the pricey side but really worth it.
There are so many beautiful little cafes in Paris that serve breakfast. I really loved this one called Le Cafe Qui Parly because the breakfast was delicious and in a quiet area.
I went to a few other restaurants (I ate a lot) so unfortunately I can’t remember the names of them all but I also can’t recall hating any of my meals. It’s Paris; how can you go wrong?
Of course I could not leave Paris without doing a little shopping so I went to the Galeries Lafayette , Champs Elysees and Avenue Montaigne. I think these are the best shopping spots in Paris, but it is such a big city so please let me know if there are better places in the comments.
Romantic walks in Paris
Since our first trip to Paris was really busy (mainly because it was my first time and I wanted to see everything in three days) and the middle of winter we really didn’t get to explore as much so on the second trip we walked around and just explored the city which was great.
I had a wonderful time in Paris and cannot wait to go there again. It is such a magical city and I know I haven’t seen even half of it yet but as they say in France ‘Ma chère amie, à bientôt’.
Thanks for reading, please leave your comments below, I love hearing from you.
